How We Raise Our Animals

Aside from abiding by organic regulations and standards, which require 100% organic feed, no hormones or antibiotics, etc., we give something extra to our livestock: plenty of space and access to outdoors. Only when our fields are too wet, during part of the winter, do we keep the cows off the pasture. The calves stay with their moms for about two months. 

The pigs are pastured in the summer as well, and our steers are raised on grass. We raise most of our own feed, putting up hay and silage for the winter.
